Crochet Bathmat made from 12 granny squares

Ok, so this Easy Granny Square Bathroom Rug isn’t as quick as most of my patterns, but in the grand scheme of crochet projects, this one is quicker than most. After years of being caught in the vicious cycle of buying department store bath mats, using them for awhile, and then throwing them out when they start to get dingy, I really wanted to make a pretty, bright bathroom rug I could throw in the washer every now and again for a refresher. Needless to say, I’m in love with this pattern. It’s easy, can be made a piece at a time between other projects, and I can make a new one out of stash yarn any time I want to try a new color in the bathroom.

If you look closely at the picture of my bathroom above, you’ll notice I have some pretty cool vintage tile in there. It’s textured and provides a little grip for the rug. Even if your floor is textured like mine, I highly recommend getting a non-slip pad for underneath this rug. The last thing you want to do is slip getting in or out of the shower.
