Three Flavors of Crocheted Popsicles!

Cute crocheted Amigurumi Popsicles are just the thing for a hot summer night and now you can make a whole pack in any flavor! They are crocheted amigurumi style without joining rows.

Abbreviations

  • Ch – Chain
  • Sl – Slip Stitch
  • Sc – Single Crochet
  • ScInc – Single Crochet Increase, 2 single crochet in one stitch
  • Sc3Inc – 3 single crochet in one stitch
  • ScDec – Single Crochet Decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together

Materials

  • D Hook
  • Worsted Weight Yarn the shade of a popsicle and a light tan or brown
  • 7 mm all black safety eyes
  • Sewing thread and needle
  • Stuffing

Amigurumi Popsicles Pattern

Ch 6, turn.

Row 1 – Sc in 2nd Ch from hook and in each of next 3 Sc, Sc3Inc turning as you go. Now working in the bottom loops of the beginning Ch 6, Sc in next 3 loops, ScInc. (12)

Continue, working pattern in the round.

Row 2 – Sc3Inc, Sc in next 3, ScInc in each of next 3 Sc, Sc in next 3, Sc3Inc, Sc in last Sc. (19)

Row 3 – Sc, Sc3Inc, Sc in next 5, ScInc in each of next 2, Sc, ScInc in each of next 2, Sc in next 5, Sc3Inc, Sc. (27)

Row 4 – Sc, Sc, Sc3Inc, Sc in next 7, ScInc in next 2, Sc in next 3, ScInc in next 2, Sc in next 7, Sc3Inc, Sc, Sc. (35)

Row 5 – Working in back loops only, Sc in every Sc around. (35)

Row 6 – Sc in every Sc around. (35)

D Hook, Red Heat Worsted in Bright Yellow and Buff

 

Now is a great time to add the face to your popsicle friends! The examples in the picture use 7 mm, all black safety eyes placed between rows 2 and 3.

Row 7 – Working in back loops only, Sc, Sc, ScDec twice, Sc in next 6, (ScDec, Sc) 3 times, ScDec, Sc in next 6, ScDec twice, Sc, Sc. (27)

Row 8 –  Sc, ScDec twice, Sc in next 4, ScDec, Sc, ScDec twice, Sc, ScDec, Sc in next 4, ScDec twice. (19)

Row 9 – ScDec twice, Sc in next 3, ScDec 3 times, Sc in next 3, ScDec twice. (12)

Fasten off and leave a long end for sewing. Stuff the little guy and whipstitch the opening  closed. Work in ends.

 

Popsicle Stick Pattern

In a shade of brown:

Row 1 – Make a magic circle, Ch 1, Sc 6 times.

Row 2 – Sc3Inc, ScInc in each of next 4, Sc3Inc, Sl. Fasten off leaving a long end for sewing. Use this end to sew the Stick onto the Popsicle.
