Icing Pattern

Use rows 1-3 of the Donut pattern for your Icing. Make sure to leave a long tail for sewing.

Now that you’ve made your Icing it’s time to attach the eyes and embroider the face. Check out the pics to the right. The addition of eyebrows or a tilted smile can totally change the appearance of your long john. Don’t be afraid to experiment with simple expressions!

Line up the Icing with the flat side of your Donut and whip-stitch around the edge to secure the Icing in place. You’re almost there!

Stuff that Donut, but don’t use jelly! Use polyester fiberfill instead. Pull the sides of your long john together and use the long end from the Donut piece to sew the long john closed. Fasten off and weave in the end.

Congratulations!

You crocheted an Amigurumi Long John!
